OUR HISTORY
Since 1976
Trans American Trucking Service, Inc. has been supplying our loyal customers with world-class transportation, warehousing, import and export services for nearly 50 years.
Our testimony towards perfection is exemplified by a passionately loyal workforce, having a 90 percent retention rate and team of drivers that average over 20 years of experience.
Today, our trucking fleet consists of over 50 late model power units and over 200 specialized trailers. We have trucking terminals and warehouse locations based in South Plainfield New Jersey, Baltimore Maryland and South Hampton New Hampshire.
Established in 1976 by Ronald McGraw, we are a family owned, asset-based company.
1976
The journey begins - Trans American is originally established as a freight agency, operating from a small, leased office within a bustling New Jersey truck stop.
1980
Trans American obtains its trucking authority and relocates to a new facility in Edison, New Jersey, opening our first trucking terminal and warehouse following rapid growth.
1984
Trans American purchases its first truck, a Diamond Reo C-114 and Raymond Kruppa is hired - our first full-time driver and the NJMTA's 2022 "Driver of the Year” award recipient.
1988
As we continue to thrive, Trans American expands its service portfolio to include a Heavy Haul division by obtaining our first Superload capacity multi-axle combination trailer.
2015-Today
James Skow retires from his position as founding Vice President culminating nearly 40 years, and we embark upon a new era of success for Trans American and its employees.
